But there are many women who reach out for direction and support within their church but they do not find it. And why do abused women not find the services they need within the church? Because many ministry leaders are unaware of the signs of abuse. They don’t see the red flags that reveal an abusive relationship. In order to truly impact domestic violence within the community, all ministry leaders must become more aware and equipped with the tools they need to combat abuse.

Blackwell offers free bible-based domestic violence training to congregations, ministry leaders, pastors, women’s ministries, etc. She willingly goes out to various ministries to provide knowledge about abuse and what ministry leaders can do. The more people we reach the greater our chances are of reducing abuse in Georgia.
